Help Please! New service to home...conductor size??

Hello all.

I am upgrading the service to my home to 200 amps. To do this I am setting up a remote structure with a 400 amp meter base with dual 200 amp breakers. I will be running the service to my home from one of those breakers and to my shop from the other breaker. The distance from the meter base to my outdoor electrical panel (for my home) will be approximately 160 feet and buried underground. I have told by an electrician that I need to run 250,250,250 & 3/0 due to voltage drops. This seems a bit overkill (based on some online research)?? Is the electrician correct or should I be going with something a little smaller? If so, which size?

Thanks in advance.
