Circuit and Connections Diagram Drafts
Instructions
For this task, you will produce the four diagrams required and present them to your instructor for feedback at the beginning of Lab 2.5. Your instructor will review them and make suggestions that you must incorporate into your final diagrams for approval to proceed with the application lab. Consider the following in your work:- The transformer winding rating is 240VX480V Primary, 120VX240V Secondary.
- Make sure you label diagrams with the standard “H” and “X” designations.
- Your instructor will provide you with the standard Primary X Secondary diagram to use in your diagrams.
- Applying 480V to the primary to get 240V output at the secondary
- Applying 240V to the primary to get 240V output at the secondary (otherwise known as an isolation transformer)
- Applying 480V to the primary to get 120/240V 3-wire output at the secondary (otherwise known as the Edison 3 wire transformer connection; used around the world as a common household electrical service connection).
- Applying 480V to the primary and utilizing part of the secondary winding to get a 360V output (this connection can be described as a “bucked” transformer connection).
