I would like to place a help wanted ad. I don't want the people who respond to tie up my only phone. I would like their calls to go directly to voicemail, or a voicemail on the internet or someplace that I could listen to them before I decide who I will call back. Does anyone know of a free service where this could be done?

Have them email you a resume first then you decide who YOU will call. Don't give out your phone # yet. Your voice mail box will fill up in no time.

craigslist, and have them reply with a resume and contact information. don't give out a phone number on craigslist.

I agree with George, Google voice is free, you get a new phone number and very easy to setup.

I'd like to third google voice. It lets you create a new phone number and it only gets forwarded to you when you want. It will also transcribe the messages for you.

google voice works pretty well. the transcription is sometimes kind of humorous, but as an anonymous voice mail system it works well and is free.
