Last time I worked at Milne point, the super was upset that I had lights pointed out towards the sea ice. Wanted to know why I was lighting an area we had no work in....he got it when I reminded him of where bears come on shore at....
No such luck, flew on the "ARCO charter". It's probably on of the few jets in the world designed to land on gravel runways. It's an old 727 (maybe 737) with rock guards, and looks like it's been to the war and back. Nice thing about it, it knows how to fly itself to and from the slope, ll by itself.
