Hi Leg Marking question

Learning from other people's screw ups is the best way to learn!
Although, I do admit, I hate to screw up, and I remember them, so it is rare that I make the same mistake twice. ;)

Having older brothers I learned a heck of a lot by just watching. Quite a lot of effort on their part, much easier on me then actually being the stupid one to do what ever it was at the time. :D

How did I know it was high leg? I didn't. I was [cough] assuming that because it said 'delta to wye' that this was a high leg situation.
We don't care about the primary in this regard, only the secondary.

A high-leg can only come from a Delta with the center tap of one secondary grounded.

A Y system has all three phases with the same voltage to neutral.

Sorry (I)threw my wiggy away 20 years ago . I use my my fluke D.V.M. to test up to 480 v. .............I believe digital for me is the only way ,more of an exact number when it comes to a read out ,WHY GUESS WHAT THE VOLTAGE IS ? A wiggy is good on street lighting?????????/

I have more than one very nice Fluke meters but, I always grab the wiggy first for troubleshooting. As far a street lighting is concerned, I dont get what you mean.

Same here, no need to know if it is 205, 208 or 210 volts, all you need to know for most troubleshooting is if it is live, dead or has continuity.
