Re: Hickey???

a hickey is a short radius bending tool, not good for actual conduit bends. more for straightening rebar, out of plumb or tweeked conduit.

Re: Hickey???

Its also the name used for the threaded fixture support that was used in boxes in the past.(I think)

Well, - - - We did all of our rigid conduit bending, up to 1" size, with hickeys back when I was a young feller, in the 1950s.

Re: Hickey???

Roger,
I think that is a crow's foot, not a hickey. The hickey has to have an opening between the two threaded parts for the wires to go into. The crow's foot would be attached to the box, the hickey to the crow's foot and the fixture nipple to the hickey. The wires would go through the opening in the hickey and down the fixture nipple to the lamp sockets.

Re: Hickey???

Don, this is in fact a crows foot, but this is still refered to a hickey in some converstions even incorrectly. (slang indeed)

Re: Hickey???

No matter how you put it or what configuration it takes. A hickey is a pain in the backside!
