Not got any type of call like what you describing on this one but i am keeping my " ears " open on this one and see where it goes.

I am pretty sure the NEC have new section written related to the automovite " shore " charging system there.

And for the power reqirement some manufacter stated just used the plain jane 15A 120V circuit for this for overnite charge but for fast charge i am sure someone will set up with 50 amp 240 v circuit something like that.

Merci,Marc

One of my friends just bought a used Prius, and said he actually exceeds 50 MPG.

I rented a hybrid for a week when my truck was in the body shop, got 35 mpg. It was a midsize nissan.

I'm gonna get one of those.. plugin types....
anyone know were to get a extralong cord reeler say about 3 miles worth?

I believe that this car will change the way the world travels, just like its namesake changed the way the world is powered:

This model is targeted toward high end performance buyers. At 109 grand it's not cheap, but it *is* fast, cool looking and only costs 3 cents a mile to drive. It goes 220 miles per charge. Once Tesla gets established and looks toward the economy issues of driving I think it will be a death knell to internal combustion engine powered vehicles.

Here is a video of Jay Leno driving one:

Also note that the world's quickest motorcycle, 0 - 60 in 9 tenths of a second is all electric. It's so fast that the owner lost control of it and crashed it into a car on a test run.

Note that with a 175 lb. battery the bike is powered by a 400 hp motor.

Here is a video of the bike on a drag strip. 8.21 in the quarter, over 155 mph.

This *is* the future of transportation......too bad we have an oil man as our leader as the future could be here right now.

Maybe I'll get one of those Tesla's....
Any one have a hundred grand to loan me.

Just think if they kept making those EV's gee with LIo batts WOW.
That would be enough for my daily commute.
A solar recharge too

At 5 buks as it's her a gallon it would pay..

Anyone seen those Electric/fuel cell Hydrogen cars. Honda is talking about a Hydrogen generator that is small enough to fit in your garage. They say the net cost would be comparable to 2 bucks today per gallon

I say we build an enourmous metal grid similar to that found at a county fair or amusement park for bumper cars and then we can just drive really large oversized bumper cars all over the US.:D

Anyone seen any of those new style solar PV cells.. THey say you'l be able to paint it on anything.

On my last trip to California I "visited" some new homes under construction (tract homes by a large regional builder.) I noticed that some of them had a 6/3 NM cable going to an outlet box in the garage. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was for, but later I realized it was for an electric car battery charger.

I'm assuming this was one of those upgrades that the builder offers and apparently a bunch of people were doing it.

I think I need to whip a brochure idea and get a pile of them to the dealerships. Get your "in" now, and you'd be the electrician to do all these things for years to come.

Whats happending with the hybrids is a conversion kit is installed to charge it from 120V, instead of the gas motor. Then your gas is pennies per gallon. city of tacoma and city of seattle are doing this we have plenty of hydropower. The 1993 code added some language for EV recharging but it never caught on.
