A friend has asked me about this. A UK company has asked if he could install a supply to a US made machine with corner grounded 480V high leg delta, very unusual for the UK.
Having thought about it I can’t think of any reason why a 433/480V ΔY transformer can’t be used. There is no need for a neutral at the machine. The 480V star point will be grounded. Any thing I'm missing?
I’ve had dealings with EU companies that would not warrant machines unless the supply was 380/220V, again an oddball voltage for the UK. (It falls at the lower end of 400/230V -6% +10%. The plant had two distribution systems, normal power was at 433V alongside 380V for the machines.
