HMI failure?

If the person that programmed the PLC / HMI is any good, they put in logic to alarm a condition of a M/S pulled in (AUX contact) if it wasn't suppose to be and another alarm to activate if the AUX contact on the M/S didn't signal when the motor is commanded to run.

So, are there any alarms when 2 motors start ? Or maybe they didn't do that (and are hacks).

Is it an LCD or CRT screen ? If crt, it could have an alignment issue with the touch screen, if both Start buttons are next to each other , real close. Don't get me started if it's only a single start/stop (toggle) button for each motor.

They are Automation Direct PLC and whatever they sell for HMI. Don't remember the model #. LCD. I don't have the software to view either system.

Screens are good sized with adequate spacing even for guys with hams for hands. Start and Stop buttons with feedback to the display. Once the motor is on alarms sound & display indicates what stopped along with stopping motors that feed product to the failed motor. These systems go in world wide, which doesn't mean they don't screw up occasionaly, it just means this isn't their only project.

No alarms when two motors start. When I say at the same time, I mean one after the other with no additional hand motions that should normally be required.
