I am adding service to my metal siding workshop. I will be using 2", sched. 40, Grey PVC between the new meter socket and the main panel. It will run directly out the back of the meter socket, through the wall and direct into the main panel. They are located back to back. My understanding for cutting holes for PVC conduit is the standard is to add 3/8" to the pvc size, 1/2=7/8, 3/4=1 1/8, etc. I have read in some places that once you get to 2" that you add 1/2" instead of 3/8". Where my confusion is is that everywhere I've looked it only gives the hole size for 2" EMT as 2 1/2" and doesn't say anything about 2" PVC so I don't know if the same size applies or if it's different. The OD of 2" PVC conduit is 2 3/8". So, my question is, for 2" PVC conduit, what is the standard hole saw size to use? I am trying to get a really good fit through the siding to help reduce any chance of rainwater leaks.
