What do electrical contractors do if homeowner orders outside light to be lowered after rough-in and refuses to pay for it.
Because the homeowner thinks the fixture will look better lower. Electrician did not have knowledge of what wall mounted fixture homeowner would buy.

Tell him that because you were notprovided with specifc luminaire information prior to rough-in, you were forced to follow the industry standard practice for installation of outdoor, residential lighting, and that to change now will require written authorization from the General Contractor. Use a lot of words an mumbo jumob that sound like you followed some electrical standards and what not. He most likely will just say forget it.

BTW: What height is it mounted, and what does he want it changed too? Just curious.

It sure seems like a lot of us have forgotten leaner times (I know I've caught myself having a very dull pencil, and getting argumentative). The customer may not always be right, but the customer is always the customer.

And the customer should always be the one who pays for what he/she wants.
