That could actually increase the likelihood of a shock.

It is my opinion that not only does it have to be bonded, but under the 2008 code it requires grounding electrode also. This is because the words "or other conductive body that serves in place of the earth" were removed from the defintion of grounded. I agree that this does increase the shock hazard.

So I take my genrator out in the middle of the woods where and plug my electic chain saw into it.

Your opinion is I just created a premises wiring system?


Which part of 90.2 says the NEC covers that?
 
Premises Wiring (System). Interior and exterior wiring, including power, lighting, control, and signal circuit wiring together with all their associated hardware, fittings, and wiring devices, both permanently and temporarily installed. This includes (a) wiring from the service point or power source to the outlets or (b) wiring from and including the power source to the outlets where there is no service point.
It seems to include most everything. 90.2 does put a bit of a crimp into this idea, but does not completely rule it out.
