Is there a horizontal clearance for gas meters from an electric meter set? The location has gas meters nearby, not directly under the meter set. The new meter bank may be about 12” to the side of the gas meters.

Generally it's up to the utility. Most I know say 3' minimum

The regulations of the electric and/or gas company would specify the necessary clearances. In my area, they are one and the same, PG&E, and the requirements are spelled out in PG&E's "Green Book" of requirements for electrical and gas installations. In your area, maybe you'd need to check both LAPWD and SoCal Gas?

FWIW, PG&E's requirement is 36" of horizontal clearance from the gas riser coming out of the ground, and I believe 12" to the edge of any meter (less sure about that part)

Cheers, Wayne
