What is the proper thing to do with the aluminum wire inside the cable? Also, is an anti-short required on this cable?

See 320.20 and 330.20. And BTW you can just cut the Al wire.
 
Then it is imperative you use connectors listed for MCAP.

You can just cut the aluminum bonding strip and MC is not required to have anti shorts installed.

I'll add that you can also cut off the bonding strip on type AC ("BX") cable as well.

True. I never really thought of it that way. :cool:


I've always just cut off the bonding strip. But this is pretty much a non-issue, because AC cable is pretty much extinct I might terminate it a few times a year. ;)
