Hot Tub Disconnect

Thanks for the responses on my previous question. The disconnect MUST be 5ft away from the tub, no exceptions. What I am looking at now, is putting the disconnect on the outside of the railing around the deck. You would have to go down the steps to the ground to access it, but, it would be accessible, visible and 5 feet away. If anyone has any advice on any BETTER place that I could put it that does not stick out, but meets code, please let me know.

I do not know what your location looks like, but if applicable, you might be able to locate the disconnect means on the side of the residence that you shall be taking the service from. The code states: disconnect shall be adjacent to, within sight, and at least 5 feet away. It doesn't say you can't be farther away.[It does say not over 50 feet away.]
