I am getting ready to pour a concrete pad for a residential customer's hot tub. The wiring is not in yet, but they assure me that will be done correctly. My concern is that the location is about 3-4 feet from the outside a/c unit. They insist this is not an issue, however I am concerned about this & feel that there should be a barrier, such as a wooden fence at a minimum. Does the code address this in any way?

Read article 680 part I and IV well........also do not forget 680.25 and 680.26!

The op is not an electrician so I doubt he has the code book.

Sandy-- did he bond the rebar in the slab? The a/c is not an issue at this point but it will need to be bonded to the motor and steel.

bonded rebar

bonded rebar

At this point the slab is not yet laid, but there was no mention of any rebar bonding. Should I advise him that the slab will not be poured if the rebar is not bonded?
