3 years ago i did friends home extension.We wired it for you name it,except a hot tub :eek: Well I had some 4/3w G in my garage and I added it just in case for what ever.Now he buys a 50 amp hot tub.We all know spas need an insulated grounding conductor.Oh 2 story home no access,What is the non legal concensus.Use it as is add a 50 gfci or dig 150 ft of ditch to pull proper conductors.

680.42 Outdoor Installations.
A spa or hot tub installed outdoors shall comply with the provisions of Parts I and II of this article, except as permitted in 680.42(A) and 680.42(B), that would otherwise apply to pools installed outdoors.

680.21 (4) One-Family Dwellings. In the interior of one-family dwellings, or in the interior of accessory buildings associated with a one-family dwelling, any of the wiring methods recognized in Chapter 3 of this Code that comply with the provisions of this paragraph shall be permitted. Where run in a cable assembly, the equipment grounding conductor shall be permitted to be uninsulated, but it shall be enclosed within the outer sheath of the cable assembly.
