2014/2017 NEC 210.8(A)(10) requires DOMESTIC laundry rooms to have GFCI protection. (B) for Other Than Dwelling Units has no such requirement. It seems a stretch to consider it an "INDOOR WET AREA". Seems like a good idea to have them protected. More chances to get "zapped" in a commercial laundry room. Don't they need protection too? …….. Just asking for a "friend".

The 2020 code added list item 11 to 210.8(B).
"(11) Laundry areas"
No requirement in the 2017 unless they were covered by list item 5...(5) Sinks
