house keeping pads for switch gear

When do you have to pour a house keeping pad? I have looked though the job spec, the nec,the wac rule,asked one of the local inspectors,called the factory rep of the switchgear and I still havn't found a sufficient answer. I have always placed switchgear on a house keeping pab, I guess I never knew why and where it says you have to.

I am not aware of any Code requirements for the raised pads for switchgear. I would think it could depend on the environment they are installed in.
There are many switchgear that are mounted directly on the floor.

Pierre... curious to know what brand that gear might be? I don't really recognize it, and that sorta bugs me. Looks like Boltswitch switches, however.

I will say GE with a GFP fused main.

I second the vote for GE. You can see the typical black GE label on the top right side of the gear.

Yep:

Center one is for a 115Kva tranny, one on right is for sound system rack. No specs stated we do this, but there was a lot of plumbing in this mechanical room.
