Household refrigerator circuit

I'm staying in house with fridge on SABC... have to listen carefully to fridge B4 starting microwave... or its a long walk to the breaker panel downstairs at the far end of the house.

How much does fridge draw and how big is microwave. This is something that probably will not happen in most cases, unless you have an old very inefficient fridge and/or the microwave has a fairly high inrush when energizing the magnetron.

I did have some issues a long time ago with a microwave or two that would trip a QO tandem breaker when starting but not a standard breaker.

Its a new LG refrigerator and a brand new Hamilton Beach microwave (I think 1000 watts)
I temporarily solved it by plugging microwave in 3ft to the left (in dining rm)

The SABC had the fridge, stove, range hood, toaster, and of course microwave... but I didn't want to put the it on the other side of the kitchen where it could only fit in the sink. Eventually I'll run a dedicated fridge circuit and probably another SABC because she's talking about an over the range convection-microwave.

DR ?

DR ?

What is a DR. I am guessing gas dryer? If so unless the dryer is in the kitchen or dining room I do not believe the required or added small appliance branch circuit or circuits should leave the designated area.

Custom home = dedicated 20a circuit.
Spec. home = 3rd SABC shared with DR.

In this situation the D R 480sparky is talking about a Dining Room receptacle.

I'm wondering why a 20A circuit, opposed to 15A...?
I think it is a matter of wiring method. We setup for the kitchen and do it all at once so the 12/2nm is on the reels so we just pull it. It may go back to when we thought the refrigerator had to be on a 20 amp cir because it was on a small appliance branch circuit. I don't know if that was ever the case but "WE were told that to be so".

I'll run a dedicated 15 amp circuit or put it on with one of the SABC's. I think a dedicated 20 amp circuit is a total waste. Have you seen the price of 12/2 lately? ;)
