How do I weatherproof security floodlamps to follow NEC?

I'm not an electrician but have some knowledge of residential wiring. I'd like to install two motion floodlamps under the eaves of my house. The light kits come with gaskets. I'd like to install them using the retrofit ceiling boxes, pass the wire through the attic to the eaves, use 12/2 NM wire and use the normal yellow wire nuts. Is this the way I should do it to be following the NEC? Is there any tricks that would help keep these watertight?

Thanks!

First to answer your Question- Call a licensed electrician and he will know what to do. This site is for people that are industry related. And no information helping a "handyman" burn his house down will be given out.

That didn't answer my question.

No it did not.

But it did point out the rules we all agreed to when we joined this site.

From the Forum rules.

This forum is for Contractors, Electricians, Engineers, Inspectors, Instructors and other electrically related individuals. It is not a site for do-it -yourselfers.

The person that foots the bill for this web site has made this decision and we must respect that.

I have to agree with BOB if you must ask this type of question then you need to pay for a qualified electrician to install what you want. This forum can`t give DIY answers.Liability and all that besides as stated this is not a DIY forum.
