Wait a minute -- there's a limit on how many wires we can put in a box? When did this come about?
Right, but there's no limit on how many receptacles. In Wisconsin it's up to 10,000

Since there seems to be some confusion over whther 314.16 is the correct code article, I decided to go to a higher authority.

I asked the question:
Is 314.16 the correct code article to figure box fill?

The answer I recieved stunned me:

If you can't believe my kids' Magic 8-ball, who can you believe?

I prefer binary, but I'm a bit weird that way.

I know connectors, recepticals and wire nuts count but how much.

They don't count very much, and are thus very slow at it. You're better off just doing it yourself.

:D
The chinese have been using an Abacus to count box-fill for thosands of years while early indians used phases of the moon.

If you take a piece of 2x4, and place the end into the box, then hit the other end with the hammer

Its funny and sad at the same time.

Maybe 18-19 #10's in a 1900 box (if you counted all the greens). Crackhead piece workers do the rough, managment refuses to let you fix anything cuz the walls are closed up, results in some weird stuff.
