Hello.

Any thought that when a LED A lamp bulb starts blinking quickly and the bulb does not light, how long before it stops blinking and dies ?

My experience has been industrial variable speed drives, many of them upwards of twenty years life . On these there were LED indicator lamps. I don't any failures.

Thank you. Reason I'm asking, there's a high indoor stairway that has a two bulb fixture, one bulb is rapidly blinking.
Getting the extension ladder to it is challenging on a nice day. With the snow piles to the back door and wet ladder and such, I would like to put it off till a different day. (maybe spring :)). Should be no concern for fire? correct? I think cfl's where questionable concerning fire.

Understood. When should it completely fail (stop blinking)? The customer is ok with having one light bulb lit, but she made a comment about she "doesn't want a disco".

should it stop blinking shortly? or should I hang a poster of Travolta.

It will continue to flicker up to the moment it stops working at all. How long? Who knows. There are far too many variables.

Too many variables.... yes. Thank you.

It's dark. It's in the garbage. I manned up. SMH, that ladder gets heavier and more awkward to handle every year.
Sit down Mr. Travolta.

I know your specific issue was resolved. But the answer as to how long an LED might keep blinking, it kind of depends on why it's blinking.

I agree with @480sparky that it's already failed.

However, it can stop blinking and make you think it might have been just an anomaly. Then suddenly the next day or even a couple of weeks later it starts blinking again. It can do that kind of intermittently.

I had an LED night light do that very thing. After about 6 months I got fed up with the erratic behavior and threw it in the trash
