How Long

Depends on the environment they are in. Subject to extreme heat (on a roof, or in the southern part of the country). Any corrosive atmosphere (ie, next to a barn?)? Is the box they are in subject to immersion?

How long will they last? I'd say anywhere from 1 day to forever.

Sorry, here is the example of NM in conduit--ran outdoors. This wasn't a forever:D

Was that because it was run outdoors or a bad connection. Looks like it came out of the panel.

1 YEAR AND 1 DAY then out of warranty

It's amazing that I have seen NM used in some very wrong applications that have lasted a long time. In HO jobs where the tape and wire nuts had fallen to pieces from the elements but the NM was just stiff.
