If this is about insurance I think the insurance company needs to give details of what will be installed vs. what was there before and you quote accordingly.

I did a remodel after a fire in a home once. The fire was in kitchen. Kitchen was gutted and other rooms still needed new carpet, walls repainted, etc. because of smoke damage. Since the kitchen was gutted it was redesigned - doesn't really cost much more to do it differently when starting over. The owners worked something out with insurance as far as finding a difference between damage replacement and what is improvement. It did not really have much impact on value of property when all was done from what I could tell, they just had more modern cabinets and a different layout. House was just old enough there was mostly non grounding circuits installed and all the new stuff was of course current standards - as well as what was easy to replace on back sides of walls since they were opened up and easy to replace at the time.
