How to connect big wire to small terminal

We have 8 high masts at rail platform area. Each high mast is 8400VA 480V single phase with one circuit. The longest distance from high mast to LCP is 3000ft.

I hope you mean each light gets its own circuit. With VD I figured the longest run with 1/0 copper. Each lamp draws 17.5 amps at 480 volts single phase.

somehow I find running over a half mile of 1/0 wires to feed an 18A load unsatisfying. there has to be a better answer.

if there are utility poles in the area, often the utility will put in lighting and maintain it for a fixed monthly fee.
