How to Make My Day or See a Increase In your Bill.

I received an emergency call today at 1:30 PM, I responded and resolved the issue in short order. 400 Amp Service exterior fused safety switch, someone had turned off this one stores disconnect (1 out of 6).

I called the home office dispatch (this is a regular customer) to let them know the store was up and running, they said a company name NOT MINE, and the lady apologized and said "well we called a slew of contractors and you were the only one to respond"

We are suppose to be the PREFERRED EC.
Few added cost this time, milage, tolls, tool rental, double time and a half, fuel surcharge.

what if another EC was already there working, and he had the disco off because he was working on something? You should tell the customer they could have killed the other EC and to only call you from now on.

It should have been that persons' responsibility for LOTO.

that *does* give one a warm, fuzzy, nurturing feeling, i will admit.... :p

don't forget the 37% surcharge for being left feeling like someone had just
stomped your pet bunny rabbit.

I would imagine that if another EC was there and the power was off then the store would not call someone ELSE stating they have a problem.

i have been to service calls where the person calling for an electrician just went through the book and left messages with everyone that they needed someone as soon as possible, and more than one electician shows up because they are in the area close.

And I've had that happen myself......... got a frantic call, so I book right over, only to find someone else there wrapping up. We chat a bit, then I go back to the office and submit a bill.

Sounds like the hospital. Every doctor that sticks their head in the door sends a bill for consultation. "Hello how are you doing"...cha-ching.:D

We had a job scheduled for a long time customer to install some low voltage lighting in a garden area. On the day before we were scheduled to work we called the customer to verify that the job was still on for the next day. They informed us that they flagged another contractor down driving thru their neighborhood and that the job was done. About 6 months latter we got a call from the same customer asking if we could come out and make their low voltage lighting work. Seems that the other contractor did the eazy part and skipped on the other. We did the repair. What is customer loyalty?

There's a difference, though. Doctors will stick their head in the door with our without your asking. In this case, I was asked. I got in the van and drove out there. Minimum service call applied.
