How to match existing conduit bends

A guy I was working with showed me a formula like square this number, then square this number, then add them, then find the square root of that number. Sound familar? The guy lost me, I don't know what measurements he's talking about

In algebraic terms, a? + b? = c? where c is the hypotenuse while a and b are the legs of the triangle.

may not be the best method, but it will work.

Really? It's an angle "finder". You place this on the existing angle to see what it is via the digital display, then bend your new one to the same angle.

Looks nice. I haven't seen that type before. I have a magnetic protractor I've had for a few years. 1st one did well until the needle started sticking & giving false angles.

I see that a few of the pocket levels are now adding 15 and 30 degree angles. I always thought they should do that, as we use those angles a lot. 45 is good, but not used as much. Main time I've used a 45 is either a sharp offset or more often when I need a wide radius 90 to clear a beam or such. Bend a 45, then another behind it.
