How to stay busy in these times.

I suggest investing in water, for the second week in a row a building flood has put us in overload. While I hate to profit in someone else's misfortune, keeping busy is key. Over flowing buckets and bad solder joints can be a good thing in these times.
 
Yea I know how it is, times are really bad here, only a couple new houses here and there, mostly rehabs, but a couple months ago, we had a storm come through that gave us some round the clock service repairs for a couple days. and yes I feel bad for the customer, but most are covered by insurance, and it was at a time I really needed the money.

I guess I could call it a little miracle, at least it was for me.;)
 
Speaking of water how about these mister systems they put on outdoor patios at restaurants. Its a simple job but seems like you could stay busy tying thier electrical in. Simple pugs contacter and lv control box
 
We just landed 14 condo docks to upgrade this should keep the guys busy for a few days I am heading to Sedalia this week to get our new shop up and running.
 
We calculated 1/2 million gallons. 1200 Amp, 208/120 VAC service continued to operate for 5 days under water, pictures to follow.
 
Agreed water can be a great revenue generator. Had a utility vault with with (2) 2000kw pad mounts in it, used to tie in to basement of 2 buildings that had just been demoed, when they filled in the basements with dirt they didn't water proof the walls exteriors. Not to mention the slope of the site was draining all the water to the vault. Little sump pump didn't have a chance of keeping up. Neither transformer blew and both the 12470 bushings and the 480v blades all completely under water.

Owner made the GC replace both transformers and the 15kv feeders back to the switch. We lost money on the actual building because of this GC but we made a killing off their insurance company on this part.
