The last month or so we've had almost more work than we can handle. My boss was even considering hiring another guy or two. This week, for some reason, next to nothing. Curious to hear how it's going for everyone else.

I live in Orange County CA and have traditionally enjoyed a short drive to work.....its still very slow and messy here, so I have to commute to downtown LA for any good dough right now. Its only about 40 miles but in LA traffic it feels like 100.

We are working but I have had NO, none, zip, zero phone calls this week. Usually average 18-20 a day.

We are more busy than a one legged man in a ass kicking contest.....not a real big shop, 3 guys in field....working 10 or 14 hrs. a day, 5 days a week....trying to keep up! More work coming down the pipeline too!! I am very thankful that we have the work we have, and I have worked hard to get it....

Still very slow. I used to turn away work that now I'm sharpening my pencil to get. I check the phone frequently to see if it is still in working order.

When I hear "we have more work than we can handle" the first thing I wonder is "How cheap are you guys working right now?"

I have hired 1 person so we are doing very well. Maybe not the more work than we can handle category. Note sure about others but I have not lowered my rate. I have been hustling to get more work though.

We have borrowed 10 men from other IEC contractors. We run around 80-100 men average.
I have 4 bids about to break. Roughly worth 900K.
The large, fast track finish out type jobs with a ton of lighting and gen power are attracting the contractors who have a lot of men sitting around, and it goes very cheap.
I've been successful getting really nasty work that, for some reason, no one wants to take the time to figure out how to get them done.

We're really not by comparison around here. That's the funny part of it. I've heard of people laid off left and right and everything being slow yadda yadda yadda, but overall we're faring pretty well.

I believe the yadda yadda yadda is true! Some People, and bussinesses are having a tough time finding work.

Things are slow here, but I'm optimistic. I'm sure we have more competition--seeing that the new construction electrical contractors are moving into our main market (old construction). The good thing about our company, is that we can do both old, and new construction.

Hope things get better for us yadda's! :D
