A customer would like to use cord drops to feed a control panel for easy removal to do maintenance and repair. My question is do the plug and connectors need to be hp rated if this control panel controls motors, valves and other electrical devices? The control panel has a hp rated main disconnect.

Theconnectors only need to be HP rated if they are expected to act as motor disconnects. If they are for no load operation then standard devices should suffice.
