Hybrid Power and Communication Cables

Don't know anything about the hybird cable in 780, but one of the more common 800 hybird cables is "siamese cable", which is the coax and the 24v conductors in one cable for closed circuit cameras.

That is so 20th century. Now, they use a single CAT-5 that provides both power and signal for those cameras.

Thanks for the feedback.

Today on the job, a buddy of mine asked me what hybrid cable was and I didn't have an educated answer. I am much more familiar with chapters 1 through 4 and the tables , than I am with the "second half" of the NEC.
After reviewing select sections in the 2005 NEC I feel I understand what hybrid cable is, but never installing it I couldn't picture an application.

Thanks again (if you or anyone else can think of any more examples I , it would be greatly appreciated)

It is a undefined market term IMO, and can mean a few different things. For example in my home it means Cat-5E, coax, and a pair of fiber optics in one sheath. I am ready for anything that comes down the pike.
