...one of our guys in the field discovered two 25A HVAC units double lugged with 25A wiring onto a single 50A breaker. 25A + 25A = 50A, so that should work, right?

Since you post here all the time and I know your experience level I will say :eek:. Otherwise I would say, if they feed fused disconnects at 25A with #10 wire or larger, then it is a valid install.

I don't think that is the case but I will ask.

It doesn’t need to be #8 wire between the breaker and the fused disco?

I mean, I understand how #10 could be legit for one HVAC unit, but if there are two on the circuit?

Fused disco’s and that would be a tap, but then I remembered a tap has a minimum size so I concede.
