Oh my... the insert for a duplex receptacle looks like it belongs with the packaging. $10 for a single GFCI is too cheap, best Ive seen is 3 packs for ~$35. Then again, it is WM, and no telling what has happened to that package. I do hope you yanked it off the shelf.

If you look at that packaging, it appears it would not be hard for a dishonest customer to pull the switcharoo. Maybe someone paid $2 for a GFCI by swapping the two.

And customer service has no clue when accepting a return.
It has a $10 reduced price tag on it, probably because the packaged was opened. Store employees likely still have no clue it is not the item mentioned on the labeling.
Yes, the receptacle in that package is neither GFCI or tamper resistant.
Nor is it gonna sell. At least for ten clams. Maybe if they dropped the price to 50¢......

You underestimate the uninformed consumer. Someone will bite on $10.00 not knowing it isn't the same thing as the one next to is that sells for say $12.75. It may take some time to find that right consumer, and the store may mark it down to $5.00 before it gets serious consideration.
Architects would love it. It has a clean look.
Oh, well...... then $150! I can order more as well......
