That is a darn good question, as long as the MC is not stripped the 2x3 aluminum is not anymore a raceway than the space between studs. There is an exception for supports when cables are fished.


I do work in retail stores and we can get 20' aluminum "power poles" that are UL listed and have separate compartments for power and data.

Not the cheapest way to go but they come painted and look better than pipe and strut.

My thinking is that 2x3 aluminum is a structure or wall and yes then is allowed to have mc fished down it .And why not it is protecting the wire from damage. Would it be any differant if it was a metal stud wall 4 x4 nand had drywall over it ?
This a cheap solution ,about $2 a foot.
