If I remember correctly, the ridged conductor is the neutral, leaving the hot as the printed one. This one happens to be polarized correctly. :roll:

Years ago, the neutral was referred to as "the identified conductor". Identifying means included ridges, white color, colored threads in the strands, etc.

I've replaced more than one fan fallen from a plastic box. One left a customer's daughter with a bruised collar bone.

I was wondering what ever happened to my '65 Corvair! It was recycled as a water heater! :cool:
