Around here the floor guys always use the dryer plug, so no clips. Some have them adapted to the stove receptacle.
What do they do when the client has all gas appliances? The only thing on 240 in my house is the A/C and it's hard-wired.
Not to be a party pooper but a few years ago at a continuing class was told not even a licensed electrician can not make up say a 3' cord with a 125 volt male plug for a garbage disposal. Must purchase think it was called a listed cord set. I wish that I had a dollar for every 120 to 480 volt 15 to 60 amp extension cords during my 50 years as a sparky. Companies that I worked for never purchased extension cords.
I know we talked about this before. This is what I would like to avoid on a job. I want to make a cord up to go from a 30A 4 wire dryer receptacle to a cord cap that the cord from 240V floor sander can mate with. My recollection is that they use a twist lock and probably a L10-30. Would that be a good gamble to make before the floor guys show up?

We don’t have natural gas within 40-50 miles of us, and propane is mainly for heating, with maybe a gas cooktop, so not really an issue here.
