I ordered a new overload block with a bit larger range for a fan. Thought I was getting a Class 20 but ended up with a Class 10. My help installed & made it work by turning the trip point up a couple hairs but I am a bit leary about leaving it for long term.

Eat the $100 and order new or let it be?

A Class 10 device trips at 6X after 10secs
A Class 20 device trips at 6X after 20secs
A Class 30 device trips at 6X after 30secs

But these are single points on a trip curve. You need to know the exact trip time at the current level you chose to determine the heating effect at the motor

I would suggest getting the correct device. Although, I would have recommended Class 10 trip devices in my intial design (in 20 yrs I have seen very few loads that could not be started with these devices).
