Tomorrow I go to the courthouse to give testimony about the condition of the electric service, and whether or not there was any evidence of tampering with the metering equipment....a dispute between management and a tennant, that I suspect goes deeper than mere tampering.

This is the third time I've had to go to the courthouse to give testimony, for various reasons, since I've been in the trade.

Care to share any stories about having to do such a thing?

For whatever reason.

Just remember if you cant afford to play, dont. If you were to get sued as a result of your testimony it could sink your ship....

I was subpoenaed. I'm required by law to play.
Just resist the urge to take a side, mentally. Answer the question directly and factually. Nothing more. Do not guess or make a conjecture. Don't be afraid to say "I don't know" as much as you need to. Seriously.

Good advice Marc. That's my plan.

Thanks.

Most times I get called in it is against the Landlord for substandard repairs made by maintenance handy man types. I was once awarded the job on one building by the court due to the amount of details given. 8 hours crawling through the building at full wages just on the inspection.

As soon as I see substandard work I call for a AHJ inspector so their report goes with me.

Yup.

Know what you know - don't know what you don't know.

Why are forum members naming themselves after barnyard animals? First cow, now mule. Strange.

I should have gone with a Badger
