Wayne, Thank you very much. now that's a GOOD simple answer/explanation to my question. i understand it and accept it. and i thank you again. it's refreshing;wish more people would do the same.

Ace I should add that the minimun circuit ampacity Is the minimun amps the compressor can start up at when the voltage drop of the wire feeding it is less than 3% If you put a amp meter on the unit you would find that the unit runs at around 18 to 19 amps if the charge is correct. so a 30 amp breaker is not bad. and if you dont have a short cycle timer to keep the compressor from trying to start right back up after a short power failure then the closer you have the OPCD the better as it will most likly trip and prevent the unit from short cycling which is the #1 cause of compressor failure. My unit say's min. ckt. 28 amps I have a 30 amp breaker so this dont happen.
