I'll stick to the small stuff, my ego won't mind.

I don't see where ego is really a factor here. If all EC's could only handle wiring residential what would we do about Hospitals, Factories, Casinos, Malls, etc....?

I don't understand your point.

I was referring to my own ego, meaning if I never bid new commercial construction, I'm good with that. I've spent many many years working as a journeyman and in some cases a foreman on the large commercial projects. I do just fine now as a contractor doing residential or small Tenant improvement, If you think thats not real work .. fine.
