Anyone that has had to deal with it will tell you its a huge pain.

I had a friend non-renewed for a 7 year old gas tank water heater. Just based on age. Insurance could have asked for a drain pan,
but no, it had to be a new gas tank water heater. The old one of course was just fine (and could have been refreshed with anode rod).
Had it been a stainless steel or copper tank water heater.... insurance would have said the same thing. All they cared about was the date,
in our disposable society.
