Hi,

Doing a hot tub run next week. 120V, cord has the integrated GFCI. Is anyone aware of an in-use cover large enough for it?

I am looking at the Taymac MM720G. Hard to tell if it is large enough from the photo.

Thanks

Leviton makes a really deep in-use cover ..... 5976-DGY. I think you'll still have to cut the bottom a little .

Thanks.

Hey Dennis, I was thinking along that line. Didn't know if one was able to hold a Nema 5-15r

Thanks.

Most will have a fuse(s) or circuit breaker(s) or even other receptacles installed as well.

Midwest U010 is just a single 5-20 receptacle, no overcurrent devices, U010010 is same thing but with GFCI receptacle.

Correction - both are duplex receptacles but still 5-20 type.

this might do it. It is made by Leviton but is proprietary to Watkins Spas. [h=1]GFCI WATKINS COVER/RECEPTACLE 39453[/h]

Thanks.

I am not sure it will fit but I have used an 8x8 or 6x6 pvc box. I mounted the receptacle in the box --the receptacle had it's own box, of course, and then I notched the bottom of the box for the cord.

What about a top hinged 3R can, w/ a GFCI receptacle mounted inside & cut a notch for the cord covered w/ caterpillar track on the edge so not to chaff the cord?

I took one of those out a while back to install a new hot tub that was a 240V. I didn't look at the brand but it looked just like this one. That is what the OP needs for a 120V plug end.

How bow dat?
Thing is the receptacle needs GFCI protection in most cases anyway from what I see.

680.22(A)(2) probably doesn't apply, but if does would require GFCI protection unless the receptacle is more then 20 feet away from the hot tub.

680.32 more likely applies, but still has the 20 foot distance

680.44 may allow the GFCI device to be on the cord, but doesn't address the fact you still might have a receptacle within 20 feet of the hot tub.
