Hey all. I have a 4000 amp switch gear where the feeders will be routed through a custom built crown box and out to their destination through various conduits. The construction of the crown box is such that there are steel braces for support. While there will certainly be no separation of the phase conductors around steel parts, does any one see an issue electrically, or a code violation with routing the neutral conductor with a steel support separating it from it's phase conductors. We would have a much easier time terminating if this could be done because of the way the crown box was constructed and where the neutrals will be landed.

Thanks

If there is much load on the grounded conductors, there will be heat produced in the steel brace that is between the grounded and ungrounded conductors. My understanding that there should not be excessive heat unless the grounded conductor current exceeds 2 to 3 hundred amps.
