How do you brace the drill?
I've found that it's a lot easier using a large holesaw with an extension. I have a 6-3/8" Greenlee recessed-can holesaw and the extension helps keep the saw teeth evenly against the ceiling so it doesn't skip and mar the ceiling.

a basketball cut in half with a hole cut in it for the arbor works also....
I use the clear plastic pans that are made for plaing under potted plants. They come in several diamters, they're extrememly cheap, you can see through them, and they don't mar the ceiling.

as for cordless tools you cant beat dewalt 36 volt line

Me don't need fancy tools. Corded cheepy's, or 12v impact does it. Cut wood w/ small drywall saw and elbow grease. Exacto knife removes molding for receptacles, since blood is replaceable. As long as its just blood and not fingers.

As for 36 volt cordless drills, those December issues of Consumer Reports magazine confuse me, so I sit on the fence. The title for 2007 was, "Cordless drills Pricier may not be better" Cover page reads:

Bigger isn't necessarily better. At 7.2 pounds and $450, DeWalt's 36-volt DC900KL is among the heaviest, priciest, and highest-voltage cordless drills you can buy. Yet is was also one of several heavyweight drills that were outpowered and outscored overall by lighter, lover priced models in our tests.

Larry gets my vote, 2nd year in a row, for the "Most effective home-made tool of the year award". Last year it was for his extension cord outlet tester.

My normal response to someone whose smashed their finger (no serious injury....nothing funny about that) is:

"It will feel a lot better when it quits hurting"

Usually good for a chuckle.

Of course we do. The more important it is to stay quiet, the louder the laugh you can't suppress will be.

I went thru all 12 pages trying desperately to come up with someting but I'm drawing a blank.

I have had my share of mishaps at work. I draw blood just about every day and go thru my share of electrical tape to bind the minor cuts but never any stitches, broken bones or days missed.

There has GOT to be something????? Maybe I repressed the memory???
