Sorry guys,

It is a substitute for an extension cord. My customer whats to plug his home theater projector into his power conditioner from about 18 feet away. I was going to run 14-2 from/to with the female end at the projector. It will only be energized when the male end it plugged into the power conditioner.

Here is the link to the site (wasn't sure if we could link things on the forum)

Edit: The owner of the company I work for is one of those "If I have not seen it or installed it before, it is not to be used", kind of guys but the client swears by it. I am going to run it by the inspector on Wednesday but I wanted to move on it tomorrow if I could.

fixed wiring can be a subsitute for an extension cord ,..I don't think it violates anything ,.... I wonder if it is listed

What is your customer going to use it for?

It's no big deal. I've made my own inlets, 1- and 2-gang, plastic or metal plates, straight-blade or twist-lock, etc.

Here's a pair of pics of just one of several different kinds I've made:

The other end is either a duplex or a clock receptacle, depending on whether it's in the ceiling or behind a flat-panel TV.

I'll bet they're a lot cheaper than the set in the OP, too.

While I see it as better than an HO or AV installer pulling an extention cord through the wall - you could put the same parts together IMO and do exactly the same. (Although the inlet pictured there in the OP appears to be a cord cap....)

. . . you could put the same parts together IMO and do exactly the same.
Didn't I just say that? I've sold several, both on installs I've done and outright sales to other installers.

(I let them make their own short cords, however.)

I noticed that, too. Besides, that recessed receptacle won't accept angle plugs, and may not accept all straight plugs.

OH MY GOD! that powerbridge thing is a hundred bucks???

I think i need to buy a bunch of flanged inlets and some plates
