Re: Inspector out of bounds?

The building is grounded. The GEC is improperly terminated into a changeover fitting and sleeved through a piece of emt. Also the water meter is not jumped.

Re: Inspector out of bounds?

I just finished on a house where the electrode system is the water pipe. Am I supposed to drive a rod or two?

And I found two code violations in the service panel that I reported to the GC who asked me to generate documentation to present to the property owner. Am I, or is the GC obligated to do anything beyond that to address the existing condition. If you ask me or my GC, we're not authorized to make any alterations. It's not our panel.

I expect my card to get signed despite the existing conditions. And the violations will be brought to the owner's attention with or without the inspector's intervention.

Sam, good point I had not even thought of. There are no ground rods installed either. Looks like I'll be busy at that house.
