Ok, being serious now. You claim the be an inspector. You really don't know the difference between residential and commercial work or is there something else about those exams you want to know?

Yes Sir,
I am an inspector. In all due respect Sir. The point I am trying to make here, how much more difficult is the California Commercial Electrical Inspector Exam is to the California Residential Electrical Inspector Exam.
I am aware of the complexity of the California Commercial Electrical Inspector as I am Certified. I have not seen the Residential Exam.
Thank you for the response.

My wag is residential might be harder, as you must know the "engineering" and the code. Very much like commercial, which one do you do day to day?

There's a lot of chatter around flammable stuff for use in HVAC

You're seeing it in the smaller appliances because the required charge is small, much smaller than R22 in the same size system. Matter if fact it's difficult to charge sometimes because what you have in your hoses and manifold is almost what you need to put into the system. So they figure with the few ounces the fire hazard is minimal. Also, the fan motor and controls are maybe not explosion proof, but well sealed. It's also not permitted to replace any part with anything but OEM.

Because larger systems require a larger charge you are not seeing them yet.
