Question for you who say a SP switch top and bottom of a stairway meets the Code.

How do you wire that? Assume just one luminaire for simplicity sake.

What is your definition of control?

Never stated both switches go the the same luminaire. NEC only requires a lighting outlet..... it doesn't say it has to be the same one for both switches. A SP switch at the top of the stairs controls a light at the top of the stairs. A SP switch at the bottom of the stairs controls a light at the bottom of the stairs.

One luminaire is possible, however. Intall a 2-bulb fixture and have each switch control one bulb.

Also how is a greenie any differant than a wire nut in regards to irreversibility? The only differance is that a greenie can only be used for the grounding conducter and a wire nut is for splicing wires in general.

Splices for EGC's need not be irreversible.
