Re: inspectors

re;qualified person and liability--when it comes time to pay the piper, regardless of wether or not a problem was related to work you have done,if you're the last elec. of record on the job the problem is now yours. ex.You run a new a/c line to the panel only to find it's maxxed out.You then figure you'll add a 4ckt dis./sub off the main panel and you're home free.Meanwhile the illegal twins and rats nest of wires in the main panel are not your responsibility since you didn't install that panel-you just opened it up to run the feed for your sub panel.
The inspector comes to final the work you've done.Maxxed panels are very obvious and for this inspection he'd have to see it.What happens next;[a]he o.k.'s the job, because he knows you didn't create it and when the house burns down two days later takes the rap with you [because as the last qualified person there he is also liable] or He defects you,so you have to clean up the whole mess, which you will bill the customer for,and perhaps this home will live to see another day.You see it ,you know it's wrong you can't ignore it -it'll come back to haunt you.
